The owl I discovered was exceptionally light in colour. The bird was one of 34 that was wintering in the Netherlands. There were also more conspecifics sitting on poles in a row. The other short-eared owls did not understand what was in that strange little house that was getting closer and closer, and remained quietly in their places. As I approached with a tent it fell nicely to capture. The beautiful owl seemed to pose for the camera. From my experience with this kind of bird, I could estimate what his reaction would be. The body language is a very specific kind. It was quite an experience I won't forget.
Because there were several birds next to each other, I could easily spot the light colours.
After all, images like this always stay with you because it also touches you emotionally and captures the essence of my animal love. I want to be close to them.
