About ‘Setting sun at Schoorl aan Zee de Kerf’ by René Groeneveld

De Kerf is a beautiful nature reserve on the edge of the Schoorl dunes. Years ago, a Kerf was dug out here in the front row of dunes. The aim was for salt seawater to flow into the valley during storms. This would create brackish water in the valley and improve biodiversity. Over time, the wind closed this Kerf again.

Al sinds mijn tienertijd is fotografie mijn passie. Ik heb zelfs nog een tijd een donkere kamer gehad. De laatste jaren fotografeer ik met name landschappen in de omgeving van mijn woonplaats Alkmaar. Daar vind je aan de oostkant het beroemde polderlandschap en aan de westkant de breedste duinen van ons land en natuurlijk de Noordzee. Kortom, een prachtige streek voor schitterende foto's van landschappen.
