Cows can be very photogenic animals, especially the Scottish Highlanders which are often used for natural grazing in nature reserves. This is also the case here in the South Holland Landscape. Until the 19th century the Highlanders were only black, but due to breeding programs there are now also blond and red-brown Highlanders around. The cow in the picture wanted to pose for me for a nice portrait, while she kept a close eye on me between her thick fur.
