In this painting, you see a Scottish highlander straight ahead, enveloped in a snow shower that is almost palpable. The shades are kept entirely in blue and grey, making the image icy and powerful. The thick fur is composed of coarse brushstrokes and catches the light where snow has stuck. The eyes are deeply hidden, making the look mysterious and unwavering.
It is a work that breathes silence, the silence of winter, of perseverance. You feel the cold, but also the strength of the animal that effortlessly holds its own in the elements. This painting fits perfectly in a space with a Scandinavian, minimalist or nature-like character. It appeals to people who love rugged landscapes, robust peace and inner strength. A story of survival, in all its simplicity.
My inspiration for creating a collection of animal portraits was inspired by my childhood, growing up among animals. My parents kept goats and sheep, among others, and that is where my love for nature and animal life was born. Each animal had its own character, its own look, its own energy, and it is precisely this diversity that still fascinates me. In these paintings, I try to capture not only the form, but especially the soul of the animal.
