About "Scotland ethereal coast 1"

by Pieter Struiksma

About the artwork

Within the serene silence of "Ethereal Shores", one finds a rare harmony between sky, land and water. This long exposure photograph reveals the soft glow of water streams meandering their way through the pristine beach, like silver ribbons dancing in the soft light. The mountainous background, cloaked in the colours of a dreamy twilight, adds a majestic layer to this serenely layered composition.

The inspiration for this work was a pilgrimage to the Scottish Highlands, a land of undisturbed beauty and mysticism. The picture represents a moment of introspection, where time seems to stand still and every breath is filled with cool, purifying air. It was a time when nature was the only witness to my presence, with every sense sharpened by the raw elegance of the landscape.

This work symbolises a period of both joy and challenge. Capturing this moment was a form of meditation, a way of attuning myself to the rhythm of the earth. There is a story behind this photograph, a story about surrendering to the moment and finding peace in the unchanging tide of nature.

"Ethereal Shores" gives me a cool, contemplative feeling, a reminder of the cooling embrace of the wind in the place where this image was captured. It is an invitation to the viewer to participate in this quiet introspection, a visual refuge where one can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
