Sakura Dreams – The colourful soul of Japan

by Eric Nagel

A fascinating blend of Japanese tradition, modern pop art and a riot of vibrant colours! This extraordinary Japanese poster features an expressive portrait of a young maiko, whose mysterious gaze immediately captivates the viewer. Her artfully arranged black hair is adorned with magnificent blossoms, golden ornaments and delicate hair accessories. The richly decorated kimono captivates with floral patterns in turquoise, pink, orange and bright blue. Dynamic swathes of colour and painterly textures lend the digital illustration a unique blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and contemporary art.

Interesting fact: A maiko is a geisha in training. In Kyoto in particular, maiko are known for their elaborate hairstyles, colourful kimonos and ornate hair ornaments, known as kanzashi. Their training includes, amongst other things, traditional dance, music and Japanese etiquette.

This colourful Japanese wall art makes a striking statement in modern living rooms, stylish bedrooms, creative studies or Asian-inspired living spaces. The motif really comes into its own against light-coloured walls and when combined with simple furniture.

An extraordinary work of art for lovers of Japanese culture, expressive portraits of women and modern pop art!
