I love the sea and I love the light along the coast.
Summer or winter it's always changing.
Regardless of the weather (and like an artists palette), the colours of the cliffs, boats and harbours are always changing throughout the day and into the night.
In this abstract painting I'm feeling the heat of the setting sun across the Aegean Sea to the Greek islands and Turkey beyond. If you like sailing and you have ever sailed around the eastern Mediterranean and beyond then you will be familiar with this intensity of light and heat at the end of a day, often accompanied by one last swim before dinner! It's always a magical experience and one I strive to recreate here.
