This is a photo that reminds you of holidays. Of a holiday in Zeeland. Of a holiday at the beach, the dunes, the sea and freedom. The freedom you experience when you walk along the tide line and stare at the endless sea. The sea where the waves keep coming and where ebb and flow alternate. The sea with its wonderful smell and its soothing sound of the surf at your feet. Walking barefoot through the sand and seawater, it's wonderful! And searching for shells in the meantime. It all adds up to an enormous sense of calm, a zen feeling and no worries on your mind and living in the here and now.
As far as I am concerned, this holiday photo fits the above story perfectly.
A perfect cloudscape is visible with soft white clouds against a beautiful blue sky. The North Sea is a beautiful blue-green and from the difference in colour you can nicely observe the different depths in the sea.
And then in the foreground the stately and powerful lighthouse. It is Noorderhoofd lighthouse in Westkapelle. The special thing about this lighthouse is that it was the first round cast-iron lighthouse in the Netherlands. And you can see that it was made of iron by the rust spots that can be seen in several places. Despite its age and rust, this lighthouse is still standing!
The colour contrast between blue, green and orange-red completes this picture. Enjoy the holiday feeling in your room!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
