Rustic Still Life of a wildflower bouquet on vase. by Studio Pieternel

Exclusive design for Werk aan de Muur / Art Heroes

This is a vibrant and richly textured painting of a wildflower bouquet in a rustic brown vase.

The work combines intense red poppies, bright blue cornflowers, sunny daisies and soft purple lavender, creating a striking and colourful focal point.

Light enters dramatically through a window on the left, creating a classic chiaroscuro lighting and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The art style is expressive and impressionistic, with visible brushstrokes and golden splashes enhancing the texture and energy of the scene.

Perfect for lovers of floral still lifes, botanical art and paintings inspired by the old masters. It brings a timeless, natural elegance to any room.

Inspired by Old Masters from the Golden Age with a modern twist.
The composition and focus on detail, light and shadow (chiaroscuro) is reminiscent of the Dutch Golden Age, especially Dutch still-life painters such as Jan van Huysum or Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder, although the brightness of the colours are also of today!

The painting is a contemporary interpretation of Still Life (Nature Morte), executed in a style midway between Post-Impressionism and Contemporary Expressionism, through the effect of thick paint and vibrant colours.

Furnishing styles: Country, Classic, Eclectic and Modern Classic.

Colour scheme: Fits well with interiors with earth tones (brown, beige, terracotta) and brings out the red, blue and yellow tones from the painting as accent colours in cushions, vases or other accessories.
