South of the N57 provincial road between Ouddorp and Goedereede lies the Koudenhoek polder. Surrounded by farmland, the Koudenhoek nature reserve is rich in centuries-old creeks and the brackish water makes the polder a walhalla for meadow birds in spring.
The edges of the polder are adorned with a few rows of trees that I had noticed from the N57 many times before. If the weather then cooperates and the blue sky is enriched with beautiful clouds, the moment has come to immortalise this beautiful landscape of the South Holland islands.
