The Erasmus Bridge takes centre stage in this picture, brightly lit against the night sky. The cables stand out sharply, drawing the eye to the skyline behind it. The high-rise buildings of De Rotterdam can be seen on the left, while the Zalmhaven tower rises on the right. The lights of the buildings and the bridge reflect colourfully in the river Maas, giving the scene a lively character.

Rotterdam has a unique look due to its modern architecture. Especially at night, when the city is illuminated, it creates an atmosphere you won't find anywhere else in the Netherlands. That contrast between water, light and steel inspired me to capture this image.

The photo exudes energy and urban dynamism, but the calm water also creates a sense of balance. It is an interplay of liveliness and calmness

By using a long shutter speed, the reflections on the water have become soft and fluid, while the bridge and buildings stand out in razor-sharp focus

This image is a real eye-catcher for lovers of modern cities and architecture. It fits well in a sleek or industrial interior, but also in an office space where you want to create a powerful and dynamic look.
