During the very first lockdown, in March 2020 I went to Rotterdam to shoot this picture. It was very quiet on the streets then, almost spooky.
This is a special photo, since I am a born and raised Amsterdammer myself. But I really like the architecture (old & new mixed together). Especially the towers of Rem Koolhaas I am a fan of!
Again, I chose a golden/blue hour time, with a beautiful magenta sky, but also the warmth of lights that are already on because it is getting dark. I spent a lot of time post-processing the photo to get the best result.
It's 5 photos, merged into 1 super sharp HDR image, using the 'bracketing' technique.
Born and raised in Amsterdam, currently living in Haarlem. But always found great passion in photography. Used to shoot analogue + developing, and later very gradually switched to digital photography.
