About ‘Rhythm of blue and green’ by Hans Kwaspen

When I created this work, I felt like a hiker in a forest full of dancing colours. The movement you see is not accidental-I moved the camera like a painter moves his brush, in long strips and rhythms that evoke the energy of a blooming, breathing nature. The shades of blue and green are not colours to me, but breaths: they remind me of the flow of water between reeds, the flash of sunlight through leaves.

My inspiration comes from moments when nature completely absorbs me-such as the hypnotic movement of branches in the wind or the glare of sunlight on a fast-flowing stream. I wanted to capture that vibrancy, that subtle but powerful movement, and translate it into an abstract visual poem.

In terms of style, I feel a kinship with the work of photographer Ernst Haas and painter Gerhard Richter: both know how to capture an emotion in movement without it having to be figurative.

What makes this work special for your wall? It is alive. It moves with the light of the day, changes with your mood, and invites you to discover something new again and again. It's not just art-it's a source of energy in your space.
