I took this picture in May 2022, but 1951 would have been nice too.
That is the beauty of Sardinia, most buildings and streets have existed for centuries. In the medieval villages and towns the decay is great, because there is no money for restoration.
That is a pity, but makes some streets even more beautiful.

In 1997 I moved from Amsterdam to the charming town of Zutphen - situated on the river IJssel.
In 1998 a tibetan terrier came into our family, who had to be walked in the forelands a few times a day. Every morning the IJssel river offered a different sight:
barges, canoeists, high and low tide, patches of fog and even the occasional ice.
When I started photographing in 2014, I wandered a lot through the floodplains.
Small bird colonies had settled on flooded…
