An old light bulb photographed on a soft surface. This surface creates a beautiful reflection.
I have always found such an old lamp to be a work of art in itself. The beauty of it is that you can see the 'inner workings' and that has always fascinated me. With the current new types of lamps you often don't see the technique behind it anymore and that's a pity.
I also admire the inventor (Thomas Edison). You just have to come up with something like that. Even though the basis for this invention had already been laid by someone else.
I have often photographed the light bulb. You can make wonderful images with it.
For this photo I chose a beautiful subsurface. This is beautifully reflected in the glass of the lamp: the structures and shapes come into focus beautifully.
There is a beautiful contrast between the soft light background, the hard materials of the lamp and the dark background.
For all this, color is superfluous, so I deliberately chose to convert the photo to black and white.

I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
