Reed plumes with droplets – dreamy macro photography by Hilde Remerie – Digital Art, Bauhaus & Photography

In this atmospheric macro photograph, the tufts of reed along the ditch take on a special quality. Small drops of water have clung to the soft, fine feathers and glisten in the light. By photographing the reeds from very close up, details become visible that you would normally easily overlook.

The reeds are at the end of the season and are already slowly turning grey and brown. It is precisely this that creates a beautiful, natural transition from soft, earthy tones to the subtle shades of purple, blue and mauve in the image. The tiny droplets give the reed plumes a fresh sheen and seem almost to hang like crystals amongst the fine fibres.

This nature photograph shows why macro photography can be so special: an everyday piece of landscape is transformed into a refined and almost dreamlike world. The soft texture of the reed plumes, the water and the light combine to create a tranquil image with many small details to discover.

‘Reed Plumes with Droplets’ makes a lovely piece of wall art in a calm and natural interior. The piece looks particularly good in a living room, bedroom, study or hall and combines easily with natural materials and soft interior colours.

For lovers of reeds, nature photography, macro photography and atmospheric nature images, this is a truly special close-up. The combination of water droplets, soft plumes and natural light gives the piece a serene and delicate feel.

A small detail by the water’s edge, captured at the moment when the last drops of the day are still clinging to the reeds.
