Red wine in the black cosmos of colour

by AidasignArt

In this evocative work, three wine glasses come together to form a sensual composition of colour, movement and materiality. Half-filled with deep, wine-red red wine, they seem not only to depict the moment of enjoyment, but to capture it in an immediate way. The wine is in motion: it spills over the rims of the glasses, lending the still scene a surprising sense of dynamism.

Particularly striking is the exceptionally thick, impasto-like painting style. Layers of black paint shape the glasses, the background and the pictorial space into a unit that appears almost three-dimensional. The dark, mysterious atmosphere is punctuated in places by golden accents of colour. Like precious reflections of light, they emerge from the blackness and lend the composition a touch of elegance and luxury.

The intense wine red forms the emotional centrepiece of the work. It contrasts powerfully with the black and makes the red wine appear almost glowing. Between stillness and movement, darkness and light, a dynamic dialogue emerges that transforms the classical still life into a modern, expressive visual language.

Another work from the ‘Moments of Wine’ series, exploring wine as a symbol of pleasure, passion and the fleeting moment – powerful, sensual and full of atmospheric depth.
