The red vases were in a previous life bottles of detergent from the brand Omo. A designer edited and shaped these bottles into the red vases, she allowed me to use a photo of her upcycled red vase for this collage.
Reusing materials is important to me, which is why I put these vases so centrally in the image. The designer who made them has since gone on to do other things, otherwise I would have mentioned her name.
The basis of the collage is a photo with grasses, a blue sky and white clouds. The diamonds in the sky are pictures of a brooch of mine with shiny stones. The different flowers in and around the vases are photos of flowers from my garden: dahlia, sunflower, blossom, tulip, poppy, buttercup. It is striking that the different flowers bloom at different times of the year. So in my files I have chosen from photographs taken over the course of the year and sometimes the course of years.
It has become a cheerful, playful image, a joy to look at.
