Fruits and vegetables in all the colours of the rainbow!
Some in their own natural colours, some dyed with acrylic paint. For example, see that bright blue garlic on the left, and that petrol-coloured ginger stalk?
This image was created during my Photography studies at the Royal Academy of Art (The Hague), where I graduated Cum Laude in 2009.
The photo is part of the project "Handleiding tot een speelser leven," which aimed to portray playfulness, light-heartedness, acceptance, chance. Less perfection, striving and planning. Because that's where we all... Or let me speak for myself: because I really do need that from time to time, as a change from all the usefulness, responsibility and seriousness.
This photo (as part of the photo series) has been nominated for several awards, and has been exhibited at the Nederlands Fotomuseum (Rotterdam), the Amsterdams Centrum voor Fotografie, Designhuis Eindhoven, Kunstmuseum (The Hague), Above Second Gallery (Hong Kong), Little Mountain Gallery (Canada), Breda Photo International photo festival and the Shanghai Biennale 2010, among others.
