About "Raffia women's skirt from Congo with abstract shapes."

About the artwork

I really like this piece because I can't get bored with it. Every time I see something new in the strange abstract shapes applied to this piece. It is a traditional women's wrapping skirt of the Ngeende tribe, part of the larger ethnic group Kuba from Congo-Kinshasa.
The cloth is made of raffia onto which strange abstract shapes have been applied, a technique called applique. It consists of four individual panels which together form a large canvas.
It is a fantastically original and traditional piece that works very well in a multitude of interiors.
I have the original hanging on a light blue background above my bed.
If you prefer a different background color than matte black, feel free to send me a message and I'll customize it for you.
The original size of this piece is 240 x 75 cm.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
