The picture shows part of the Japanese garden in Planten un Blomen with a watercourse flowing between a multitude of stones. The stones form an uneven surface and give the garden a natural look. The watercourse begins with a small waterfall that cascades down from a higher level into the riverbed. The water then flows over a series of stones that form the path of the river through the garden. There are different sizes and shapes of stones, from flat pebbles to larger boulders that serve as steps or bank stabilisation. The garden is surrounded by trees and bushes that form the background and complete the view of the garden.
