A field of cut flowers, purple and yellow, dancing in the wind. The sunrise provides warm light and the depth of field hints at the forest in the background.
The backlight provides a light edge around each individual flower, detaching them all from the whole.
The purple and yellow hints at spring, where the deep green represents a later season.
The photo was taken on the Vughtse Heide, in Vught. A unique piece of nature in Brabant where forest, water, sand and heath come together. Colours alternate and this patch of open flower field in the middle of this forest was beautiful during this sunrise.
The layering of colour adds depth. The front flowers are purple, behind them you find a layer of yellow and behind them a layer of green. All blend together seamlessly.
The swaying stems almost make you hear the wind. Who else is in the mood for a spring breeze?
