The Pontjesbrug, located in St. Anna Bay, in Willemstad Curacao, was commissioned in 1888 and completely restored in 1938.
The Queen Emma Bridge, with a length of 168 metres, is the only wooden swing bridge in the world. It is forbidden to use the bridge for cars's and is only accessible to pedestrians.
If you stand on the bridge built on 16 pontoons, you immediately know where the bridge gets its nickname from, the swinging old lady.
The Pontjesbrug connects the district of Punda with Ottrabanda. The picture also shows Brionplein with its characteristic coloured buildings.
