A row of plane trees along a road in southern France. Plane trees are beautiful trees with a distinctive leafy, characteristic mottled trunk. With their wide full crowns, they provide plenty of shade. In the south, they are therefore often planted in squares and along wide streets. You also see them a lot along roads leading to villages. They are easy to pollard and can shade entire terraces with their large leaves.
