About the artwork

According to the religious tradition in the Hebrew Bible, Samson or Samson (sunny or small sun) was a judge of the Israelites. The man was a Nazi from birth and was therefore not allowed to shave off his hair. He derived enormous physical strength from his Nazareneship.

Samson fought the Philistines. Later the guy came into the Sorek Valley where he met the Philistine woman Delilah. While he was asleep, the maid had him shave off the seven locks of hair, after which Samson was overpowered by the enemy.

Here the Israelite sleeps naked on his girlfriend's lap. The girl sits topless with him and her breasts are bare. Meanwhile the soldiers are waiting to charge the guy.

Peter Paul Rubens (Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, 28 June 1577 - Antwerp, Brabant, Spanish Netherlands, 30 May 1640) was a South Dutch painter of Flemish Baroque. He was also called Pieter Paul, Pieter Pauwel or Petrus Paulus.
