This work shows a long, wooden pier stretching gracefully towards the vast Issyk-Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan. The white lanterns along the railing naturally lead the eye to the horizon, where sky and water merge almost seamlessly. The emptiness of the pier emphasises the silence and calm of this special moment.
My inspiration for this work came from the serene beauty of deserted places. Often it is not the crowds or crowds that give a location character, but rather the silence, the space to breathe and the peace to turn inwards.
The atmosphere of the photograph is subdued and meditative. It invites you to pause for a moment, to lose yourself in the distance and let your own thoughts run wild. It is an ode to simplicity and balance, to the power of minimalism in overwhelming nature.
The message I want to convey is that there is beauty in emptiness and silence: that moments without distractions hold the most wealth.
What makes this work special in an interior is the tight composition and symmetry, which exude calm and order. At the same time, the depth of the blue and the vast horizon bring a sense of space and freedom to any room. It is an image that both calms and invites daydreaming.
