I shot this picture from the tip of the crib in the river Merwede off Hardinxveld-Giessendam.
A beautiful ship belonging to Rijkswaterstaat,
RWS73, IMO9479199. It was built in 2009 and neatly maintained.
It came sailing towards me in the distance and it seemed as if it turned around especially for me, after passing by to give me a chance to take a nice photo.
With the beautiful looming cloud sky and the beautiful yellow colour of the superstructure, the ship really stood out.
It was probably on its way back to its home port, where the crew was returning home after a fine day's work.
A relaxing spot along the Merwede always provides inspiration, to return often with a camera.
