Pastel Purple Violets in Green Vase high-key photograph. We have two kinds of violets blooming in our garden. This is the soft lavender-colored violet. Its edges are white and as the color bends towards the soft yellow stamen it blends into a soft purple. I placed a bouquet of the violets in a transparent green small vase. I placed it on a Lightbox to illuminate the vase and flowers from below. This creates the light fresh high-key photograph you see.
The view of this photograph is at a at a birds eyel angle. This gives the viewer the feeling that they are looking from above at the violet flower arrangement.
The atmosphere of this floral is that of a bright, sunny and fresh spring day.
Photography allows me to get close and intimate with my subject matter. It shows the beauty easily overlooked due to our busy lifestyles. My artwork gives the viewer a sense of calm, peace, and relaxation. A reprieve from daily stresses.
As a photographer who comes from the days of film, I do minimal post-processing. Much like I did in the traditional darkroom. I want the viewer to feel like they are right there where my photograph was taken. Creating a visual escape.
