Parrot tulip is here again painted in a different way with watercolor. The purple, pink and light orange colours are layered over each other. It is just like a colourful parrot, cheerful. The flowerbulbs bloom in spring on the west coast of The Netherlands. Holland is known for its bulb fields and attracts many tourists.
Art on canvas looks great on any wall. It truly comes into its own with paintings featuring sharp brushstrokes.
I have time to draw and paint more after years of volunteer work for the St. Care Foundation The Gambia. Inspiration I got in the Gambia where I also lived. The colors, the population and life is a great source of inspiration. But also the quieter life now is inspiring to use softer colours and to work more with pastel chalk. But still it's nice to work in all kinds of colours and to try out new techniques and new materials.
