It is a collage of Aerial photos that have been stitiched and post-processed in photoshop. As a result, it has a very high resolution and individual buildings are well visible.
Schiermonnikoog is a Wadden Island in the Netherlands located in the province of Friesland. It is the smallest Wadden Sea island and has just under a thousand inhabitants. This also makes it the smallest municipality in the Netherlands and therefore it is always the first to count votes during elections. The island is known for its beautiful nature, rugged coastline and wide beaches. There is a large Schiermonnikoog National Park, where visitors can walk and cycle through the unique nature, including dunes, woodlands, fens and beautiful beaches. There are also several bird sanctuaries where birdwatchers can enjoy observing various species of birds. The island has a small village called Schiermonnikoog, with a number of shops, restaurant, accommodation and cultural activities. There are also several museums where visitors can learn more about the island's history and culture. There is a harbour where boats dock, from other parts of the Wadden Sea, including the ferry from Lauwersoog. Schiermonnikoog is also a popular destination for water sports such as surfing, sailing and kite surfing. In winter, Schiermonnikoog is a quiet place, with fewer tourists, but with beautiful nature that adapts to the seasons, including seals, birds and the beautiful winter sunsets.
