About the artwork
"Panorama of lint with the heart of a fluff ball" is a macro photo of a piece of a lint ball, where the middle lint is in front of the heart of the lint ball. As a result, from behind the lint in the centre of the photo, you can vaguely see the wood-coloured saws running, like a kind of star.
It took me a long time to get the position exactly as I wanted, because this is such a small piece of nature, where a shift of even a few millimetres makes quite a difference.
The colours in this photo are mainly natural shades of brown, creating a kind of calmness in the photo. I cropped this photo to panorama size. As with many of my photos, I opted for a shallow depth of field. I chose this to create a sense of depth in the work. If you zoom in on the photo, this is easy to see. The plane of focus is at the centre of the middle fluff and the further a part is in front of or behind this, the fainter it becomes.
This work could hang beautifully (due to its panorama format of 1:2 ) above a bed in the bedroom or above the sofa or sideboard in the living room, for example!
