Palendorp Petten at sunset. The Palendorp is a monument symbolising an old village that disappeared completely into the sea from 1792. This fine work of art consists of 160 poles ranging from six to 12 metres high. The poles are in the shape of 10 houses and a church.
By photographing not straight against the sun but from an angle, the setting sunlight gives a nice effect on the poles, which are slowly 'getting wet feet' due to the rising sea.
