'Over the Hills' - Be enchanted by the beauty of nature! French impressionist Monet often painted Notre Dame, while Cezanne captured the same mountain over and over again. I completely understand this, as light is constantly changing and makes each subject unique every time. This fascinates me in painting nature.
In my latest work, a monotype, I have used nature as a source of inspiration. A monotype is a unique print, where only one print is possible. I further enriched this monotype made with oil paint with vibrant oil pastels, resulting in a dynamic and intuitive process. I am completely guided by the colours around me and my own feelings. Only when the artwork is complete do I name it.
'Over the Hills' is not only meant literally; it also evokes the suggestion that there is another world behind the hills. Discover this unique creation inspired by the magic of nature!
