The Ekambareswarar Temple is a Hindu temple, dedicated to the god Shiva. The temple is located in the city of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is a very important temple in Hinduism, as this holy temple is linked to the element earth, or Prithvi. Shiva is worshipped as Ekambareswar or Ekambaranathar, and is represented by Prithvi lingam. Legend has it that Shiva and his wife Parvati were married under the mango tree, which lies in the inner sanctuary of the temple. Outside the temple it is a beautiful spectacle of Indian street life, like motorcycles lined up neatly. Maybe this Indian street life will soon be hanging on your wall too!
