About ‘Opel Manta A (1975)’ by Jelte Bosma

De Manta was een sportief model van Opel in de jaren zeventig en tachtig. In achttien jaar tijd werden er van de twee generaties - Manta A en Manta B - in totaal 1.056.436 exemplaren gemaakt. De sportiviteit van de seriemodellen zat voornamelijk in uiterlijk en aankleding: technisch was de auto gebaseerd op de modellen die voor het grote publiek bestemd waren.

De Manta A werd in september 1970 geïntroduceerd en was technisch te beschouwen als het coupémodel van de Opel Ascona uit dezelfde tijd. De Manta was aanvankelijk leverbaar als 1600, 1600S en 1900S. De 1600 was voorzien van één carburateur, die de motor hielp aan een vermogen van 68 pk bij 5200 toeren per minuut. Hiermee was een topsnelheid mogelijk van 150 km/u. De motor in de 1600S had een tweetraps carburateur met een vermogen van 80 pk. De topper van dat moment, de 1900S, had een vermogen van 90 pk bij 5100 tpm, wat hem een topsnelheid gaf van 170 kilometer per uur.

In 1972 werd de serie uitgebreid met een Manta 1200, waarin een motor uit de Opel Kadett zat. Twee jaar later werd er een topmodel aan het programma toegevoegd: de GT/E met benzine-injectie. Door deze inspuittechniek werd uit 1897 cc toch een vermogen gegenereerd van 105 pk, goed voor een top van 190 km/u.

In juli 1975 werd de productie van de Manta A stopgezet, waarna de auto opgevolgd werd door de Manta B. De Manta A was een verkoopsucces: 498.553 exemplaren.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
