"Odyssey" is an abstract depiction of travelling, transformation and the struggle against the unknown. Inspired by the mythical Odyssey, the work tells of stormy voyages, uncertain horizons and the search for home. The deep black areas symbolise the rough waves, the past and challenges, while the light colour gradients suggest hope, knowledge and the promise of new shores.
The bold, gestural application of colour creates a dynamic that captures movement and chaos - as if the ship were in the midst of an epic storm. The structure of the dark brushstrokes appears fragmented, like a vessel that is constantly disintegrating and reshaping itself. The warm red and orange tones at the top suggest a possible sunrise or sunset, a metaphor for beginnings and endings.
"Odyssey" is not only a journey through space, but also through emotions - a reflection on resilience, transformation and the eternal quest for meaning. It invites the viewer to discover their own metaphorical journey in the lines and surfaces.
