This work explores the tension between light and darkness, identity and dissolution. The figure, characterised by expressive lines and strong contrasts, seems to emerge from the background and dissolve into it at the same time. The facial features are fragmented, almost ghostly, while the colour palette of warm earth tones and deep black creates an archaic, mythical atmosphere.
The inspiration for the painting comes from the idea of self-transformation - the moment when an identity fades to make way for a new form. The abstracted elements and raw textures reflect an inner journey: the process of deconstruction and renewal. The white lines outlining the face reinforce the impression of fragility and transience.
The picture invites us to engage with the unknown, to look into the depths and explore what is hidden. It is about the interplay between visibility and invisibility, about the essence of change.
