About the artwork

The city of Pagan (also called Bagan) is one of Myanmar's former capitals, and was founded in the year 849. It was the capital of the Pagan Empire, where Theravada Buddhism was the main faith. This can be seen from the huge number of temples still standing in Pagan today; Pagan has the largest collection of Buddhist temples, ruins and stupas in the world. In 1287, the city was abandoned by its residents, who left the city in fear as the Mongols were coming to conquer it. Perhaps partly because the city was deserted when the Mongols arrived, little damage was done to the city itself by the Mongols. Thousands of temples still stand today, often in relatively good condition. An earthquake in 1975 damaged many of the temples, which could not always be repaired.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
