About the artwork

The languorous, sensual pose of this woman is strongly reminiscent of the popular paintings of odalisques, slaves and concubines in Turkish harems. Much of this canvas is thinly painted or left entirely blank, suggesting that it was a figurative study rather than a finished work of art. The French Academy in the 1800s saw the depiction of the nude as the ultimate measure of an artist's skill. Because models often changed positions, students had to work quickly and without embellishment. Here, the artist completed only those areas necessary to emphasize the contours of the model's body.

The model lies naked as a nude with her back to you. As a result, the girl's legs, buttocks, hip and back are exposed on the portrait, a nude portrait.

All in all a sexy and sensual erotic picture with romance.

Isidore-Alexandre-Augustin Pils (Paris, France, 1815 - Douarnenez, Département Finistère, 1875) was a French academic painter of religious and military subjects. In 1831 he became a student at the École des Beaux-Arts.

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
