About "Northern Lights in Iceland"

About the artwork

There is something magical about the northern lights. It comes and it goes and if you're lucky you'll find yourself watching a complete light show. So it is here, at this extraordinary lighthouse. It stands on the coast near Selfoss, a well-known place in southern Iceland. During our three-week trip in April 2024, we saw the northern lights five times. This was the last one.

The northern lights can be seen very often in Iceland. Yet not everyone who goes there is as lucky as we were. Firstly, you have to get there between September and April otherwise the days are too long and the nights too bright to see it. In addition, it is often difficult for the naked eye to discern. As a photographer, you have a trained eye and once you have seen it through the camera, you can recognise it even without a camera. By the way, in Iceland the green is often also so strong that anyone who is outside at the time and not in their warm bed can see it.

This photo was taken with a slow shutter speed to catch enough light. The wide-angle lens with 14mm allows me to grab a fairly large part of the sky and I put the lighthouse nicely in the middle, as the centre of this immensely beautiful light show.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
