About ‘North American F-86 Sabre’ by KC Photography

A beautiful North American F-86 Sabre jet fighter in US Air Force (USAF) colours. In 1944, North American Aviation designed a day fighter fitted with arrow wings. This aircraft could also be used as an escort fighter or dive bomber. The first XP-86 flew in October 1947 and was powered by a 3750-pound thrust-producing General Electric J35 engine. The F-86 was used very extensively operationally by the USAF during the Korean War in the early 1950s, where it was often used against its opposite number, the Russian MiG-15, with varying degrees of success. The F-86 has served in the air forces of many countries around the world.
