Naumburg Cathedral is one of the most important cultural monuments of the European High Middle Ages, and its architecture, stained glass and sculptures are unique in the world. The cathedral has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since June 2018.
Naumburg Cathedral is considered an example of late Romanesque and early Gothic architecture and, with its twelve donor figures, is one of the most important buildings of the European High Middle Ages. The statue called Uta von Naumburg is one of the most important sculptures of the German Gothic period. The colourfully painted stone figure was created in the middle of the 13th century by the so-called Naumburg Master.
