This is an abstract artwork made of light, in natural soft tones. The light is captured in a multitude of squares, which together form a mosaic pattern.
Everything that can be seen and discovered in this abstract artwork is almost the same natural colour. There are pastel shades in beige, brown and grey, but if you look closely, and especially up close, you can also see all the colours of the rainbow here and there.
But what are you looking at? What is this particular light artwork made of? This light artwork looks like a jigsaw puzzle with all the square puzzle pieces. The puzzle pieces seem to be randomly arranged next to each other, but sometimes you can see a beam of light running through somewhere. It seems an impossible task, to make this puzzle and put everything in the right place, and maybe this is not the intention!
This abstract light artwork was created by mixing a number of photos together. Photos taken using light, glass and a special object found in some of us' kitchens.
Glass and light together are always an inspiration to me. Light often refracts particularly beautifully through glass or a glass object and this always produces surprising images.
Finally, the final photograph was digitally distorted, creating the mosaic of squares.
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
