About "Morning quiet at the East Gate"

About the artwork

Early in the morning, I drove towards Delft, attracted by the promise of a clear morning. The weather forecast indicated that the sun would rise beautifully, right over the historic Oostpoort. I wanted to capture that moment - an encounter between time and light.

While the city was still asleep and the water of the canal lay silently ahead, I set up my tripod. With a long shutter speed, I let the water turn into a reflective surface, almost like glass, in which the gate reflected peacefully. You only find this kind of peace in the early morning light, when the world has yet to wake up.

The East Gate itself is a special monument. Built around 1400, it is Delft's only remaining city gate. With its two elegant towers and Gothic details, it breathes history. For centuries it was a defensive work, now it is a silent witness to times gone by - and a beloved symbol of the city.

This picture is more than an image; it is a moment of peace, light and history. An ode to Delft, captured in the golden hour of the day.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
