Wachsenburg is one of the Three Gleichen castles in Thuringia. An old story says that the three castles were struck by lightning on the same night in 1231 and subsequently burnt out. Today, Wachsenburg is the only one of the three castles that has been rebuilt. For this picture, I wanted to capture the moonrise behind the castle. The time and location were just right, only the weather didn't cooperate. But the veil clouds and the light of the moon created another interesting image.
