About "Monochrome from Al Qattar in Wadi Rum"

by Oliver Lahrem

About the artwork

The desert of Wadi Rum is not the largest, nor does it boast any records. But it is certainly one of the best known, not least for the classic film
"Lawrence of Arabia"
Wadi Rum is a sandy desert with sandstone mountains. Wind and erosion created the sometimes bizarre mountain massifs or sandstone bridges.
After the mountain "Seven Pillars of Wisdom", "Al Qattar", which can be seen in the picture, is probably the most famous sandstone massif in Wadi Rum.
The image is photographed in a monochrome style to focus on this beautiful mountain. The reduced contrast and slight overexposure create the impression of an old photograph.
In the foreground you can see the wide plain of the wadi of sand, before rocks and scree rise upwards.
In the centre of the lower area there is also a standing bench and an overturned bench, which gives the picture the impression of a deserted place.
The picture is in panoramic format, which is the best choice for the long mountain massif.
In this monochrome style, the landscape of Wadi Rum comes into its own and radiates a serene calm.
Have you already been to Wadi Rum and are looking for a beautiful memory? Or are a fan, like me, of such beautiful desert landscapes, then this is certainly the right choice.
