A misty forest in autumn colours, a photo taken on a recent trip to the High Fens in Belgium. For me, forest photography is still one of the most difficult types of photography. It is often difficult to find a good composition that does not make the combination of branches, leaves and trees too chaotic and overwhelming, but fog can help. It softens the contrasts and ith that the background and removes some of the chaos. Lines in the composition can help with this as well, which is why I deliberately chose this composition because the diagonal line formed by the slope (and enhanced by the brown ferns) with the fog gives a nice diagonal dichotomy in the image.
