When you think of Holland, you think of windmills. Kinderdijk is loved by many tourists from home and abroad, because of its many windmills, the water and the typically Dutch atmosphere.
Kinderdijk is home to a total of 19 windmills in. 1 row of 8 round stone mills on the Nederwaard, 1 row of 8 octagonal mills on the Overwaard. In addition, the Blokweerse mill and, in the Nieuw-Lekkerland polder, 2 thatched octagonal mills.
The Kinderdijk mills have been on UNESCO's World Heritage List since 1997.
