Milky-stemmed Mycena on an oak stump – Atmospheric Veluwe macro shot by Fotografiecor .nl

This photograph uses a low angle (frog’s-eye view) to truly draw the viewer into the world of the mushrooms. The focus is on the delicate, cone-shaped caps of the Milk-stem Mycena, with their subtle texture and translucent gills beautifully illuminated by the soft autumn light. The contrast between the weathered, moss-covered oak bark and the white, delicate little mushrooms creates a harmonious and soothing image.

As a photographer in the Veluwe, searching for these little treasures is a true exercise in mindfulness. It requires patience and an eye for detail that is often overlooked. These milk mushrooms remind us of the hidden riches of our own Veluwe forests; they are the silent architects of the forest floor and an essential part of the forest ecosystem.

This image is ideal for a modern-rustic or Scandinavian interior where tranquillity and natural elements take centre stage. For the best possible presentation, I recommend a print on fine-art matt paper or matt Dibond; this preserves the soft textures and the dreamy atmosphere of the bokeh background without any reflections.

Bring the mystical beauty of the Veluwe’s autumnal forest into your home and order this unique fine-art print of these delicate milk mushrooms today.
