Midnight over Schermerhorn – The Milky Way in the Polder by Jos Voormolen

Bring together a quintessentially Dutch icon and the magic of the universe on your wall with this breathtaking night-time photograph by photographer Jos Voormolen. The artwork depicts the historic, thatched polder mill (ground-sailer type) dating from around 1633, beautifully situated on the Noordervaart in the Schermerpolder near Schermerhorn.
It is a rare, serene encounter between centuries-old Dutch heritage and the infinite cosmos. Visually, this composition excels through its masterful depiction of the Milky Way, which splits the sky diagonally behind the windmills. The contrasts between the deep, dark night and the sparkling stardust create a spectacular depth effect. Particularly atmospheric is the warm glow from the windmill windows and the perfect reflection of the starry sky in the rippleless water in the foreground. This subtle play of light, combined with the dark reed beds, gives the photograph a soothing and mysterious dynamism that immediately captures the eye. This exclusive bestseller fits perfectly into a modern, rustic or industrial interior. It makes a powerful and soothing focal point in the living room, study or bedroom. Choose a high-quality print on glossy acrylic glass (plexiglass) to let the depth of the Milky Way speak for itself.
